Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) observed "Mohan Shaheed Dibash & International Mother Language Day 2023" by remembering the ultimate sacrifices of the valiant sons of the soil in 21 February 1952, who fought for establishing the rights of the mother tongue. On 20 February 2023 at 11:00 p.m, Poetry recitation and cultural program was held in front of the Central Shaheed Meenar of KUET.
On 21 February at 12:01 AM, Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder and Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia offered the floral wreaths on the KUET Central Shaheed Meenar on behalf of the University. Next 'Bangabandhu Chair Professor' of KUET Prof. Dr. Khursida Begum, Teachers’ Association of KUET, Director (Students' Welfare), Officers Association, Provosts and students of Fazlul Haque Hall, Lalan Shah Hall, Khan Jahan Ali Hall, Dr. M. A. Rashid Hall, Rokeya Hall, Amar Ekushey Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Bangladesh Chattra League of KUET unit, Karmokarta Samity (Up-gradation), Karmachari Samiti, Master Role Karmachari Samiti, Puja Udjapon Committee & Sonatoni Student Welfare Parishad, Shore-Oa, KUET Theater, Drupodi, OKS, KDS, Kalpopot, Try, Career Club, Protidhoni, ESE Association, Greater Mymensingh Association, Greater Commilla Association, Narsingdi Association, Chuadanga Association, Natore Association, Technical Training Centre (TTC), Khulna and many more Educational Institutions placed the floral wreaths at the memorial.
On 21 February morning, the black flags were hoisted and the national flag was half hoisted atop all important buildings and residential halls in the KUET campus. At 09:00 a.m., a drawing competition for children was held at the Student Welfare Centre (SWC) of KUET. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder was present as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes among the winners.
To mark the day article presentation & discussion meeting was held at the auditorium on 20 February 2023 at 03:30 p.m. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder was present as the Chief Guest while Director (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Motin was presided over the event. Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia, Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Dean of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Shahjahan participated in the discussion as Special Guest. `Bangabandhu Chair Professor` of KUET Prof. Dr. Khursida Begum discussion as Chief Speaker and delivered an article. Among others, Director (R&E) Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Shikder, Head of Urban and Regional Planning Department Prof. Dr. Md. Mustafa Saroar, President of Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Md. Helal-An-Nahiyan, President of Officers Association Engr. Hossain Mohammad Arshad, General Secretary Engr. Md. After Asr prayer, a Doa and Milad-Mahfil was held at the KUET Central Mosque for the peace of the departed souls of the martyrs and also peace and happiness for the country and nation.
