  • KUET celebrated the 44th Independence Day of Bangladesh

  • Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated the country's 44th independence day on March 26, 2015 by paying respect to the country’s most illustrious sons who were brutally killed by the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators in the nine-month bloody war with Pakistan in 1971.

    On 25 March, 06.45 p.m. KUET teachers, students, officers and employees gathered and brought out a procession of candle light led by the VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, to remember March 25, 1971, the darkest night in the history of Bangladesh.

    Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, placed floral wreaths on Gollamary Memorial Monument at 26 March, Morning on behalf of the University. Later, Director (Students’ Welfare), KUET Teachers Association, Provosts of different Hall, KUET Officers Association, KUET Chattra Leage, Bangabandhu Karmachary Parishad, 4th class karmachary Samity, Masterroll kormochary Somity & other organizations of KUET placed floral wreaths at the memorial.

    On 26 March, at 09:00 a.m, a drawing competition and prize given ceremony for children was held at the university auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Alamgir awarded prizes among the winners of drawing competition as the Chief Guest.

    A charity cricket match between Teachers and Students of KUET was also held at the play ground at 11:00 am.

    At 4:30 p.m. KUET Chattra leage and other students gathered and brought out a procession of National Flag to celebrate the country's 44th independence day.

    After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque to pray for the departed souls of the Nation’s bravest sons.

    Later, at 07.00 p.m. Discussion Meeting and Cultural Programmes related to independence day was held at the auditorium. KUET School, KUET Kormochary Somity also brought out different programmes related to Independence day on 26 March to celebrate the day.
