Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has celebrated its 17th Founding Anniversary and the "University Day 2020" on 01 September 2020, maintaining the health safety guidelines amid the corona pandemic. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain inaugurated the university day program as the Chief Guest by hoisting the National Flag and releasing the colorful balloons. Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Chairman of “University Day 2020” Celebration Committee, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam presided over the function and hoisted the university flag accompanied by all other Deans & Director (students’ welfare). After the inauguration program, the Chief Guest planted trees beside the KUET Lake and released fishes in the KUET Lake near the Central Shahid Minar of KUET.

Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) observed the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the greatest Bengali in thousand year, the Architect of Independent Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15, 2020 with due solemnity and the highest respect. Marking the day, early in the morning, the National Flag was flown at half-mast and black flag was flown at the administrative building, Vice-Chancellor's Banglow and all the residential halls of student. At 10:00 AM, The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain paid homage to Bangabandhu by offering the Floral wreaths in front of the sculpture of Bangabandhu at the "Bangabandhu Square" on behalf of the University. After Asr prayer, a Doa Mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque for the departed soul of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members assassinated on 15 August, 1975.

Tree Plantation Week observed at KUET campus on 27 July, 2020. Tree Development Committee of KUET organized this program as a part of the government's country-wide tree plantation movement. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was present in the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest and formally opened the function at 11 a.m. in font the Liberation Sculpture "Durbar Bangla" by planted a tree. With solemn respect celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day 2020 was observed at KUET. On the first morning of 17 March at 12.01 a.m. on behalf of the University Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain were flown Hundreds of balloons and festoons to mark the day. BUILTECH Fest 4.0 is a building engineering, construction engineering and management based contest which was arranged by Department of Building Engineering and Construction Management (BECM) of KUET. This event was held on 05-06 March, 2020 at KUET in order to enhance the creativity and capability of the students in this sector all over the country.This event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Honorable Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir on 05 March at 04.00 PM at the Student Welfare Centre. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was the Chief Patron of BUILTECH Fest 4.0. On 06 march Friday, at the Closing Ceremony of this Fest, Secretary of The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), Khulna Center Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia distributed prize as the Guest of the event among the winers participated in Cad Contest, Mechanics Mania, Management Mastermind, Case Study, Photography Contest and Poster Presentation. Students from Countrywide various Departments of the Universities such as Building Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, URP and Architecture participated in this fest. Head of BECM Department, Md. Ikramul Hoque presided over the Closing Ceremony and Secretary of this fest Sm. Arifur Rahman delivered welcome speech.

Two new minibuses and two new microbuses inaugurated by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain on February 04, 2020 in order to increase the capacity of the KUET transport pool. In a short speech, Vice-Chancellor thanked Honorable Prime Minister, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, Teachers, Officers, Staffs and Students of KUET to get these minibuses and microbuses.
