Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has chalked out a program to celebrate the country’s historic achievement of the eligibility to graduate to a developing country from the Least Developed Country (LDC) status. The authorities of KUET hold a joyous rally on the university campus to celebrate the country’s great achievement at 11am on 22 March. KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir inaugurate the rally with delivered his speech. KUET VC said to Greeting the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government take challenges with the people of Bangladesh and made the impossible possible. He also remembered with gratitude Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, saying he had struggled throughout his life to change the people's fate. Director (Student Welfare) of KUET Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia also delivered his speech in the function. Bangladesh has become eligible to graduate to a developing country from a least developed one as it has met all the three criteria for getting out of the LDC bloc – for the first time. The Committee for Development Policy (CDP), a United Nations panel, made an announcement on the country’s eligibility at a meeting at the UN headquarters in New York.
