Message From VC
I am very much delighted to introduce Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), which is one of the leading Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) of Bangladesh, established in 1967 as Khulna Engineering College and started its long cherished journey on 3 June 1974 with the provision of 180 students as yearly intake in the bachelor degree course in 3 Departments. Later the college was converted to an autonomous HEI called Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna in July 1986 to enhance teaching and learning. Finally, the institute was upgraded and renamed as Khulna University of Engineering & Technology in September 2003. Presently, it comprises 14 departments including major branches of engineering and sciences offering both the under-graduate and post-graduate degrees with yearly intake of 665 UG and about 150 PG students.Institue of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) has started in the year of 2010. It has the plan to have 19 departments, 3 Institutes and yearly intake 1425 students and relevant infrastructures within the next 8 years. The university is aimed to take the leadership in promoting technological developments and management of the nation by strengthening engineering, science & technological education and research. For decades, KUEThas been at the forefront of education,research and nation-building, producing the best graduates in the country.Research and academic activities have also been extended for meaningful collaboration with various Higher Education & Research Institutes from the Asian, European, American and Australian countries. As the Vice-Chancellor of KUET, I am honored to be at the helm of what is considered as one of the foremost universities in Bangladesh, and I hope to lead through an outstanding period of progress and growth in quality education, research and overall teaching & learning environment of the campus.
