Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) observed the 103rd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day 2023 by holding extensive programmes on 17 March 2023. The recitation of the Holy Quran was concluded at 6:10 am. on the occasion of the birth day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

On the occasion, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder and Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia paid tributes to Father of the Nation by placing wreaths at the sculpture of Bangabandhu at “Bangabandhu Square” in Campus at 9:30 am. After that, Teachers Association, Director (Students Welfare), Officers Association, Fazlul Haque Hall, Lalan Shah Hall, Khan Jahan Ali Hall, Dr. M. A. Rashid Hall, Rokeya Hall, Amar Ekushey Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Karmokarta Samity (Up-gradation), Karmachari Samiti, Khulna Engineering University School & Unmesh Govt. Primary School paid tribute by placing wreaths at the sculpture of Bangabandhu.

To mark the day discussion meeting was held at the auditorium on 17 March at 10 am. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder took part in the discussion meeting as the Chief Guest. Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia, Dean of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Shahjahan, Dean (In-Charge) of Mechanical Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Helal-An-Nahiyan participated in the discussion as Special Guests. `Bangabandhu Chair Professor` of KUET Prof. Dr. Khursida Begum delivered an article. Director (Students Welfare) Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Motin was presided over the event. Among others, General Secretary of Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Sheikh Md. Rabiul Islam, Director (R&E) Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Shikder, Head of Urban and Regional Planning Department Prof. Dr. Md. Mustafa Saroar, President of Officers Association Engr. Hossain Mohammad Arshad, From student Shahariyar Mahamud Shadi, President of Karmokarta Samity (Up-gradation) SM. Shazzad Hossain, General Secretary of Employees Association Md. Hasib Sardar took part in the discussion. Assistant Director of Public Relations & Information Section Monoj Kumar Majumder represented the discussion meeting program.

Among other programs, composition and painting competition, beautiful handwriting and scheduled speech, Describe Bangabandhu's life story etc. were held by the participation of the students of Khulna Engineering University School & Unmesh Govt. Primary School. A Joyful Rally was also held at 08:45 am. with the participation of teachers and students of Khulna Engineering University School & Unmesh Govt. Primary School. Various aspects of the life style of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and cultural program related to the daywere held at 11 am. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Halder and Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia distributed prize among the winners in the function. Besides, after Asr prayer Doa Mahfil was also held at the Central Mosque of the University on the occasion of the birth day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
