Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) observed “Mohan Shaheed Dibash & International Mother Language Day 2020” by remembering the ultimate sacrifices of the valiant sons of the soil in 21 February 1952, who fought for establishing the rights of the mother tongue. On 20 February 2020 at 09:00 PM, a cultural program was held in front of the Central Shaheed Meenar of KUET. On 21 February at 12:01 AM, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain offered the floral wreaths on the KUET Central Shaheed Meenar on behalf of the University. Next Teachers’ Association of KUET, Director (Students’ Welfare), Officers Association, Provosts and students of different Residential Halls (including A.K. Fazlul Haque Hall, Lalan Shah Hall, Khan Jahan Ali Hall, Dr. M.A. Rashid Hall, Rokeya Hall, Amar Ekushey Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall), Bangladesh Chattra League of KUET unit, Police Training Center, Karmokarta Samity (Up-gradation), 3rd Class Karmachari Samiti, 4th Class Karmachari Samiti, Master Role Karmachari Samiti, Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Hall Karmokarta & Karmachari, Recitation Organization of KUET Shore-Oa, KUET Theater, Drupodi, Ochin Pakhi, Greater Mymensingh Association, Bogra Joypurhat Association, Organization of KUET Sports (OKS), ESE Association, Greater Commilla Association, Kalpopot, Try, DREAM, Chuadanga Association, Natore Association, KUET Photographic Society and Educational Institutions placed the floral wreaths at the memorial. On 21 February morning, the black flags were hoisted and the national flag was half hoisted atop all important buildings and residential halls in the KUET campus. At 09:00 AM, a drawing competition for children was held at the Student Welfare Centre (SWC) of KUET. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was present as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes among the winners.

Later on, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain took part in the discussion meeting as the Chief Guest where Deputy Director (Students’ Welfare), Dr. Ismail Saifullah presided over the program. Dean of CE Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf; Dean of EEE Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad; Dean of ME Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam and President of Teachers’ Association, Prof. Dr. Pallab Kumar Choudhury were present as the Special Guests. Among others, Head of CSE Department and Provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Prof. Dr. Pintu Chandra Shill; Provost of Dr. M. A. Rashid Hall, Prof. Dr. Sajal Kumar Adhikary; Prof. Dr. Md. Ataur Rahman of Civil Engineering Department; General Secretary of Teachers Association, Dr. Md. Abdul Hasib; President of Officers Association and Comptroller of KUET, Md. Nuruzzaman; General Secretary of Officers Association, Md Akkas Ali; President of Karmokarta Samity (Up-gradation), G. M. After Asr prayer, a Doa and Milad-Mahfil was held at the KUET Central Mosque for the peace of the departed souls of the martyrs on 21 February 1952 and also peace and happiness for the country and nation.
