Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated the Victory Day on December 16, 2015 by paying utmost respect to the country’s most illustrious sons who were brutally killed by the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators in the nine-month bloody war with Pakistan in 1971.
Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir placed floral wreaths on Gollamary Memorial Monument at 16 December very early in the morning on behalf of the University. Later, Director (Students’ Welfare), KUET Teachers Association, KUET Officers Association, KUET Chattra League, Bangabandhu Karmachary Parishad & other organizations of KUET placed floral wreath at the memorial.
KUET took elaborate programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner. The national flag flew in front of all important buildings at early in the morning. Later at 9 a.m. a drawing competition for children was held at the university auditorium. Friendly football match between Student, Teacher, Officer and Staff also held in the play ground at 3 pm. After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque to pray for the departed souls of the nation’s bravest sons. Discussion Meeting and Cultural programmes also held at the auditorium at the evening.
