KUET paid glowing tributes to father of nation’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 38th death anniversary & national mourning day on 15 August, 2013. KUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir placed wreaths at Mujib’s grave at Tungipara on behalf of the University on 15 August Morning. Begum Munnujan Sufian, State Minister, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Dr. Sobahan Mia, Provost (CC), Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibar Rahman Hall, G.M Shahidul Alam, Registrar (CC) also accompanied with him. Later, munajat was offered, seeking eternal peace for Bangabandhu and the other martyrs of August 15, 1975.

At 3:00 p.m. on 15 August a discussion meeting was also held at the University auditorium organized by KUET Karmachary Leage. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present there as the Chief Guest while Convener of KUET Karmachary Leage Md. Khakan Mollah in the chair. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, in his speech he urged all to work being imbued with the ideology of father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to build a poverty and discrimination free Bangladesh. Bangabandhu struggled throughout his life for socio economic emancipation of common people. Among others Dr. Sobahan Mia, Provost (CC), Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibar Rahman Hall, G.M Shahidul Alam, Registrar (CC), Assistant Programmer Mihir Lal Sarker, freedom fighter Ishak Ali and among staff Munshi Suruzzaman Hanif, Md. Imrul Islam spoke in the meeting. The meeting was representation by Member Secretary of KUET Karmachary Leage Md. Rabiul Islam Shohag. Later, munajat was offered, seeking eternal peace for Bangabandhu and the other martyrs of August 15, 1975.

Black flags were hoisted and the national flag flew at half-mast atop all important buildings including the Vice-Chancellor’s office at early in the morning.
