Machine Readable Library Card has been distributed among the students of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) by the Central Library of KUET with the help of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP). With this proceed the public university of Bangladesh at first KUET is successfully in introducing the Machine Readable Library Card to the students.

The Vice-Chancellor of KUET Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir distributed the Machine Readable Library Card to the students in a function as chief guest on 22 April, 2013 at the Central Library. The chief guest said that KUET has become able to achieve the extra ordinary position in the country through this programme in Library system. The function presided over by the Librarian of the university Md. Akkas Uddin Pathan and addressed among others by Head of the Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) department Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department Professor Dr. K.M. Azharul Hasan, Head of the Energy Technology (ET) department Professor Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam, Head of the Humanities department Dr. S. M. Rabiul Alam.
