A three-day long workshop with the representatives of all the 13 (thirteen) Public Universities in the country, entitled as ‘Integrated Library System Installation and Maintenance’ held at the Central Library of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) from 20 September to 22 September, 2012. Library System Automation of KUET organized the workshop with a view to step forward to the progress to its goals and shared experience with the other Universities to run their projects. KUET is the only public university which central library entered into the full automation system. Vice-chancellor of KUET Dr Muhammed Alamgir was present as the Chief Guest in the inaugural function. Dean of Mechanical Engineering Faculty Prof ANM Mizanur Rahman, Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof Md Bazlar Rahman and Dean of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty Prof Ashraful Ghani Bhuiyan were present as Special Guests. Sub-Project Manager of Library system automation of KUET, also head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Prof Dr. K M Azharul Hasan presided over the inaugural function. Librarian of KUET Mr. Md. Akkas Uddin Pathan delivered welcome address. Among others, Mr. Md Abdul Hye Sameny, librarian of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet spoke on the occasion. Prof Dr. K M Azharul Hasan provided a detailed presentation on the various development for the library automation systems of KUET. Other resource persons of the project gave the presentation on the various aspects of the Projects to get the comments and feed backs in order to make necessary changes in the developed software for having an excellent Library automation system and to ensure the sustainability of the system. This was done as a part of Academic Innovation Fund (AIF) project under the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC). On September, 22 at 6:00 p.m. closing ceremony of the workshop was held successfully at the Central Library of KUET. Prof. Alamgir was also present there as the Chief Guest and distributed the certificate among the participants.
