  • KUET students from Dept. of Urban and Regional Planning, have become the champion in "Case Study Analysis" in "Cennovation-2015"

  • A team consisting of four students from Dept. of Urban and Regional Planning, KUET have become the champion in “Case Study Analysis” in “Cennovation-2015” which was held at Islamic University of Technology (IUT) campus, Gazipur on 29th of august, 2015. The event was organized by Dept of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) and sponsored by “LAFARAGE Surma Cement Ltd.” There were total seven segments in which about 700 students from various institutions like BUET, CUET, RUET, DU, SUST, MISTand many other universities around the whole country participated to show their innovative ideas and thoughts. Among the other segments there were Poster Competition, CAD contest, Project Showcasing, Photography Contest, Short Film Contest and Mechanics Olympiad in which students participated with much enthusiasm. In Case Study Analysis, primarily six teams were selected for the final presentation on the event day based upon the report, innovative ideas and analytical result of a given topic which was “Sustainable Transportation Mode for Dhaka City”. The six teams had to express their ideas and presentation skills on the same topic through a formal presentation before the two honorable judges from IUT and Guest judge from North South University (NSU). Dr. Shamim Z. Bosunia, President of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh was present as the chief guest. Prof. Dr. M. Imtiaz Hossain, VC of IUT was also present as the special guest. Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, VC of University of Asia Pacific was present as the chief guest and Engr. M. A. Awal was present as the special guest at the closing and prize giving ceremony. RedwanKabir (URP_2k12) Presented Topic in short: “Sustainable Transportation Mode for Dhaka City” In the peak hour of offices and educational institutions we see the traffic congestion every now and then costing us valuable time and money in terms of working hours and fuel respectively. Also at closing hours of commercial and educational institutions traffic jam occur due to heavy load of passengers.
