The BME Department starts to offer four years undergraduate studies from 2014 with a yearly intake of 3o students. To obtain the degree, B.Sc. in BME the students must successfully complete 16o credits in eight Terms. The curriculum covers several major study areas to prepare students to compete for higher studies and professional life. A wide range of courses i.e. Basic Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Analog & Digital Electronics, Computer Programming, Human Anatomy, Basic Mechanics and Thermodynamics, Biomedical Instrumentation, Biomedical Signal Processing, Biomaterials, Radiation and Ultrasound Imaging, Bio-optics, Brain and Neuroengineering, Telemedicine and Health Care, Hospital Management etc. are offered. Related Laboratory works, training, various field trips are also done.
The Department of BME offers postgraduate programs in the field of Biomedical Engineering Fundamentals, Biomedical Sensors, Bio-fluid Processes, Bio-informatics, Computer Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Signal Processing, Man-machine Systems, Bio-embedded Systems, Medical Equipment Management etc. The postgraduate program leads to the degree of Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (M.Sc. Eng.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). To be awarded a M.Sc. Eng. degree, a student should have to complete minimum 36 credit hours of which g credit hours of project work or 18 credit hours of thesis work in 3 Semesters. The degree requirements of Ph.D. are 6o credit hours of which a maximum of 45 credit hours of thesis works to be completed in 6 Semesters.
