Dr. Parvez Manna was born and brought up in a tranquil village of Cox's Bazar. After high school, he has enrolled in Chittagong College (CC) to pursue a college degree. While at CC he discovered a natural predilection towards physics and science, earning a college degree in science in 2003. He then transferred to the most prestigious engineering university in Bangladesh, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) where he received a bachelor's degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering with honors and obtained the first position in his class. Shortly after finishing university, he started his engineering career at Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Ltd. (KAFCO) as an inspection engineer where he served almost 3 years. After that he has enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Engineering Materials Institute at the University of Wollongong, working in Professor Elena's research group. His research deals with the dynamic recrystallization behavior of austenite during elevated temperature plastic deformation. Dr. Parvez has previously completed research projects in ZTA (Zirconia toughened Alumina) nano-composite used for hip joint prosthesis; design and analyze the foundry industry; failure analysis of high temperature materials (Creep, Fatigue, Stress Corrosion Cracking). He also holds numerous leadership awards, and for his outstanding research and presentation, he was declared the winner of EMC, HDR research competition in 2015. At present, Dr. Parvez is a proud member of the department of materials science and engineering (MSE), KUET. Apart from the professional world, he loves to play soccer, cricket, badminton, table tennis and likes to mingle with different professionals.
