A workshop on "Role, Responsibility and Ethical Principles of University Teachers" was held at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on 07 September, 2019 at the Distance Learning Theater. The submission of online application for the first year Bachelor of (BSc) Engineering, Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) and Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) courses admission of 2019-20 academic session of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) started on 04 September 2019. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain inaugurated the online application submission at KUET meeting room at 10 AM. Among others, Chairman of the Admission Test committee for 2019-20 academic session and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad; Registrar, G M Shahidul Alam; Departmental Heads, Members of the Admission Test committee for 2019-20 academic session, other teachers and officers related to the online registration were present in the function. The online application will continue till 17 September 2019. The list of qualified applicants of the admission test will be displayed on 03 October 2019 in the university website. The Admission Test will be held on 18 October (Friday) from 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated its 16th founding anniversary and the “University Day 2019” on September 01, 2019 through a series of colorful events. The Honorable Mayor of Khulna City Corporation, Al-Haj Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated the day-long university day program as the Chief Guest by hoisting the National Flag and releasing the colorful balloons and the Pigeons; the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain presided over the function and hoisted the university flag accompanied by all deans, institute directors, director (students’ welfare) and all heads of the department. Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Chairman of University Day 2019 Celebration Committee, Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad delivered the welcome speech.

A grand rally was brought out by the students, teachers, officers and staffs of KUET. The rally paraded the University campus and Fulbarigate area with colorful banners, festoons and placards.

The Freshers' Reception of '18 batch students of the Department of Chemical Engineering (ChE) of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) was held on 27 August, 2019. Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) observed the 44th martyrdom anniversary of the greatest Bengali in thousand year, the Architect of Independent Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15, 2019 with due solemnity and the highest respect. Marking the day, early in the morning, the National Flag was flown at half-mast and black flag was flown at the administrative building, Vice-Chancellor’s Banglow and all the residential halls of student. At 9:00 AM, a drawing competition for the children was held at the Student Welfare Center (SWC) of KUET. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain distributed the prizes among the winners of the drawing competition. At 10:30 AM, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain paid homage to Bangabandhu by offering the Floral wreaths in front of the sculpture of Bangabandhu at the “Bangabandhu Square” on behalf of the University. After Asr prayer, a Doa and Milad Mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque for the departed soul of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members assassinated on 15 August, 1975.

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has celebrated the "Clean-Cleanliness day 2019" to create awareness and destroy the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes responsible for spreading dengue. The program has been launched from 05 August at 10 A.M in front of the administrative building. Acting Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad said, while inaugurating the programme, to build a dengue-free, clean and green campus. Dean of Mechanical Engineering (ME) Faculty Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam, Head of ME Department Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia, Registrar G M Shahidul Alam, Librarian and President of Tree Development Committee Md. Akkas Uddin Pathan, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rifat Sultana Shelley, Security Officer Md. Sadek Hossain Pramanik also spoke in this program. Tree Plantation Week observed at KUET campus on 01 August, 2019.Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain has said “To protect us from natural disasters, green fence should be established, so a large number of trees should be planted. Since there is a shortage of forest areas in our country at present, we should overcome the shortages of trees in order to survive well”. Tree Development Committee of KUET organized this program as a part of the government’s country-wide tree plantation movement. Honorable Vice-chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was present in the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest and formally opened the function at 10 A.M. in font of the administrative building. To mark the day, a colorful procession was brought out from the administrative building that paraded the whole campus led by the Vice-Chancellor. Later, the Vice-Chancellor planted a tree in the campus. Librarian and also the President of the Tree Development Committee of KUET Md. Akkas Uddin Pathan presided over the function. The program has been launched from 30 July at 5 P.M at the Student Welfare Center (SWC) premise. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain inaugurated the campaign and emphasized to build a dengue-free campus. Director (Students Welfare) Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder, President of University Students Welfare Committee Md. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Western Sydney University and Khulna University of Engineering & Technology Signed A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed on May 03, 2019 at the Western Sydney University, Australia between Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia and Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh. Professor Barney Glover, Vice-Chancellor and President of Western Sydney University, Australia and Professor Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The purpose of this Memorandum MoU is: Development of collaborative research projects; Organisation of joint academic and scientific activities, such as courses, conferences, seminars, symposia or lectures; Development of articulation arrangement and joint supervision of PhD; Exchange of academic staff for teaching and research activities; Exchange of PhD/HDR students to undertake study or participate in research programs and Exchange of scholarly properties and other information of common interest.

Workshop on Annual Performance Management: KUET Perspective held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on 20 April, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Distance Learning Theater. Honorable Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Prof. Abdul Mannan was present as Chief Guest, where Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was present as the Chair in the workshop. In his speech as Chief Guest Honorable Chairman of UGC Prof. Abdul Mannan Said, “We should carry on our country development progress by increasing our efficiency. The graduates and the researches of KUET will play important role to build better Bangladesh. We should always remember that we have liabilities to our common people of our country”. He added, “The government has increased the salary for the government employee more than double but still corruption is happening. The corruption is now a social diseases and it is swallowing us. We should change our behavior and mentality to stop it. For this reason everywhere we should need annual performance agreement and do our duties with full of morality and transparency”. Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New Year 1426 amid festivity on April 14, 2019. The whole university wore a festive dimension as the students of KUET installed stalls representing their respective halls for Baishakhi Fair with pure Bengali fashion build with straw and clay made beautiful huts. Very special "Panta" (watery rice) with green chilies, sort of native and indigenous cakes etc were the main attractions in the fair. Celebration started in the early morning with Tagor's enchanting melody song "Esho hey Baishakh esho esho" at the Central Play Ground. At 10 a.m. a grand colorful procession (Mongol Shovajatra) to mark the Pahela Baishakh started and went round the whole University campus and Fulbarigate area led by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain with the participants of traditional attire wearing multi-coloured masks, palanquins etc. Cultural programmes, snake-charming, kite flying, cock fight, kabadi etc were also the day long native attractions of the day. Prize given ceremony also held in the evening. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain attended all the programmes. In a short speech Vice-Chancellor said, Pahela Baishakh is deeply rooted in our heritage and we are proud of it. May the Bengali New Year bring message of joy for all and unite all to build a prosperous nation, he added. Students, Teachers, Officers and Staff of the university enjoyed the day long festival.
