“Without Mathematics we can’t move. Mathematics’ must be exercised to smoothness of science. The role of mathematics is undeniable to progress of science.” Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir said while he was inaugurating the 9th National Undergraduate Math Olympiad as Chief Guest. This daylong event for Khulna Region was started on 18 November at 10 am supported by the Bangladesh Math Association and Bangladesh National Undergraduate Math Olympiad Committee, arranged by the KUET. Head of Mathematics Department of KUET and Convener of Regional Olympiad Committee Prof. Dr. Md. Alhaz Uddin presided over the event. Dean (in-charge) of CE Faculty Prof. Dr. Khondoker Mahbub Hassan, Member Secretary of Bangladesh National Undergraduate Math Olympiad Committee Prof. Dr. Md. Monirul Alam Sarker, Dean of Science Faculty of Begum Rokeya University Prof. Dr. Md. Tazul Islam, Founder of E-Math Research Foundation and Executive Director Kazi Md. Khairul Bashar were present as special guests. The written exam of the students started just after inaugurated the program by hoisting National Flag with National Anthem and releasing balloons. Besides, the event was ended by the prize giving ceremony in closing ceremony after the open discussion and answering question segment. The VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir distributed prizes among the winners as a Chief Guest. In the Olympiad Number of 10 participant’s winners form the 90 participants of the 11 college and University of Khulna region. The winners of six regional contest will be take part in the National Undergraduate Math Olympiad. present and former students, Teachers and persons who have interest in mathematics attend in the Olympiad.
