Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) observed Shaheed Dibash & International Mother Language Day remembers the supreme sacrifices of the valiant sons of the soil who fought for establishing rights of the mother tongue in 1952.

At 10 pm on 20 February a discussion meeting and cultural program was held at in front of KUET central Shaheed Meenar. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir placed floral wreaths on KUET central Shaheed Meenar at 21 February, 12:01am on behalf of the University. Later, Teachers Association, Director (SW), Officers Association, Provosts and students of different Halls, Chattra Leage, KDS, Theater, Dreams, Shore-Oa, Ochin Pakhi, Karmachari Samiti (3rd & 4th class), Masterrole Karmachari Samiti, Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Hall Karmachari Samiti & other organizations of KUET placed floral wreaths at the memorial. .

On 21 February morning Black flags were hoisted and the national flag flew at half-mast atop all important buildings in the campus. Later at 9am a drawing competition for children was held at the university auditorium. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir present as the chief guest and distributed prize among the winners. After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central Mosque. .

The Orientation Program of newly admitted 1st year Bsc Eng, BURP & BArch students of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology for the Session of 2016-2017 held on February 16, 2017 at the KUET Auditorium. The students and their guardians were informed about the Academic procedures, rules and regulations including registration, examination systems, other academic matters, disciplines and co-curricular activities..

The Honb’le Chairman of UGC Prof. Abdul Mannan was present in the orientation ceremony as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of the best use of knowledge may overcome all obstacles even though we have much limitations of infrastructure and other recourses. The Chief Guest also underscored the need for quality education at the University of Bangladesh. He hoped that KUET will provide quality education to the students despite the existing constraints so that they will be successful at their professional life. He also emphasized the seriousness and discipline of the students while they will be at KUET. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was presided over the function.

Newly admitted students of undergraduate course for the Session 2016-2017 were also introduced in the program by the respective Faculty Deans. The inauguration ceremony of Inter Hall Cricket Tournament 2017 of KUET was held on 10 February, Friday at KUET central play ground. A Instructional meeting with the recently new appointed teachers at KUET was held on 07 February at 11:30 am at the conference room of the administrative building. Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated Saraswati Puja, one of the religious festivals of the Hindu community on 01 February 2016, with traditional gaiety, religious fervour and spirit of pursuit of art and knowledge which Goddess Saraswati provides. The Hindus worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture, on the Vasant Panchami day with pomp every year mostly in educational institutions, where the students seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Two days long annual sports & cultural competition was held at Khulna Engineering University School & Unmesh Govt. Primary School of the University on January 27 and 28 at the school premises. Day long workshop on `Team Building workshop: Self-Assessment and Quality Assurance in Higher Education, in the Department of ECE’ held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on 23 January, 2017. New year, new books for the students of class one to nine “Textbook Festival 2017” as a part of countrywide free textbooks distribution program held at Khulna Engineering University School on 01 January at 10 am. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir distributed new free textbook among the students as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Prof. Alamgir urged the students to study hard because the fortune of Bangladesh depends on their success. He also thanked and expressed his gratitude to the Government of Bangladesh and related ministry for countrywide handed over new textbook to the students at the first day of new year. In this time he selected two Environment Minister from the student of a class to monitoring and inspire other students to built the clean school campus.
