IPE Carnival by the organized of IEM Department held at KUET on 02 December, 2016. At 09:00 am a grand colorful procession to mark the Carnival started and paraded the whole varsity campus, Fulbari area led by the VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir. On 22 November 2016, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir,Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) Deliver a Special Talk on "Solid Waste Management and Resource Recovery in Bangladesh" at the invitation of Dr. Pratap Kumar Padhy, Head of Department of Environmental Studies, Visva-Bhatrati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal, India.

Post-graduate Students and Teachers from the Department of Environmental studies, Biotechnology and Integrated Science & Research Center (ISERC) were present at the program. After the presentation, a discussion meeting was held and it is agreed that bi-lateral cooperation in education, research and faculty exchange will take place in future.

From 24-26 November KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir attended 6th IconSWM at Jadavpur University, India. On 24 Novembe, Prof. Alamgir Deliver a plenary speech on Technical Paper & On 25 November Prof. Alamgir Chaired at the " Municipal Waste Management " Session.

Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, VC of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), inaugurated “Officers Club” on November 20, 2016 at 03.30 pm. At the inauguration ceremony, in a short speech, he said, officers will be celebrate their various club activities smoothly here. He also mentioned, with the establishment of this club a long desire of the officers are fulfilled. World Town Planning Day 2016 was observed in Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on 17 November, 2016 with rally & discussion meeting organized by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP). At 11:30 a.m. teachers, students, officers, employees gathered and brought out a rally from the administrative building and paraded the whole campus and ended in front of the New Academic building led by the Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir.

Later, discussion meeting as a part of celebration the World Town Planning Day 2016 Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present there as the Chief Guest and delivered his valuable speech. Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbub Alam, Dean, CE Faculty, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, President, BIP Khulna chapter addressed as the Special Guests. Assistant Professor of the Dept. of URP Dr. Md. Manjur Morshed delivered welcome address. Tushar Kanti Ray, Assistant Professor of URP department of KUET Presented the main Paper of the discussion meeting headed ‘Observance of World Town Planning Day : (History and Significance)’. Prof. Dr. Md. Mustafa Saroar, Head, Departmen of URP presided over the discussion meeting and made the closing remarks.

High tech park is going to be set up in the Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) campus as necessary process is progressing successfully creating high hopes among all quarters concerned particularly the business icons and ICT experts. Tuesday (15 November) at 3 pm at the conference room of the university signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and exchanged between Hi-Tech Park Authority and KUET. Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority (Additional Secretary) Begum Hosne Ara, NDC and Registrar (In-Charge) of KUET G.M. Shahidul Alam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

In the meantime, VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, deans, directors of the Institute, several departmental heads, directors, teachers and high officials were present at that time. They discuss various issues related to the Hi-Tech Park. The Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Begum Hosne Ara, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir and other related person visit the site to see for themselves its progress after the meeting.

During the Visiting, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Begum Hosne Ara said, In order to achieve Digital Bangladesh we have to set up high-tech parks with the latest information technology gadgets, starting with divisional headquarters. Khulna is going to get a high-tech park as soon as possible through the best uses of information and communication technologies (ICT).

The Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir said, The hi-tech park is going to be established with a view to achieving a set of specific mission and vision of establishing a world class business environment for targeted high growth industrial sector and new business. "Likewise, it will provide employment for a large number of people in this area, including ICT buffs and professionals," he said.

Later, a doa-mahfil was also held for the successful completion of the work. Moreover, in the administrative building conference room on 30 October at 12pm, Registrar Office also arranged a farewell ceremony for Registrar Md. Abdur Rouf.

The admission test for the first year B.Sc Engineering, Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) & Bachelor of Architecture courses in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) under 2016-17 academic year was held peacefully. The admission test was held at 28 October, 2016 from 9.30 am to 12.00 pm.

A total of 9818 admission seekers attended the entry test for 1005 seats in 14 departments under B.Sc Engineering, Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) & Bachelor of Architecture courses.

A total of 12768 aspirants had applied for KUET seats, but 12717 aspirants were selected for admission test after scrutiny.

Vice-chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Mohammed Alamgir and President of admission test committee and Dean of ME Faculty Prof. Dr. Tarapada Bhowmick visited the examination centers.

The VC of KUET thanked all members of entry committee, teachers and employees of KUET, admission seekers and their guardians and members of the law enforcers for their cooperation for completing examination test peacefully.

The result of entry test will appear on November 08 and it will be posted on KUET website (www.kuet.ac.bd) and notice board.

Workshop on Mobile Game Idea Generation held at KUET at 25 October, 2016 at 4 pm at the Department of CSE organized by ICT Division of Peoples republic of Bangladesh. KUET VC Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir inagurated the workshop as the chief guest. The training and new lab inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir as the Chief Guest. “Seminar on IELTS & Higher Study in USA” held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) at 2.30pm of 20 October 2016. The programme was organized to concern the student about IELTS and Higher Study in USA. With the help of British Council Project Headway organized the program.

Prof. Dr. Tarapada Bhowmick, Dean, Faculty of ME was present as the Chief Guest in the function & Director (Student’s welfare) Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia was present as the Special Guest.
