Standing Committee on Ministry of Food visited KUET on 30 April, 2016 Morning. The visiting team comprising the President of Standing Committee on Ministry of Food Md. Abdul Wadud (Dara), MP, Member of Standing Committee on Ministry of Food Adv. Sheikh Md. Nurul Haque MP, Member of Standing Committee on Ministry of Food Abdul Malek MP, Secretary of Standing Committee on Ministry of Food Khodeza Akhter Khanom (Joint Secretary), Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat Mofizur Rahman, Director General of Food Firoze Ahamed (Additional Secretary), Project Director of Modern Food Storage Facilities Project, Ministry of Food Md. Gazi Ur Rahman (Joint Secretary). The team also applauded the recent development took place at KUET under the leadership of present VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir.

High official representative from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Planning and Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) visited the ongoing development projects in KUET on 30 April, 2016. Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated Pahela Baishakh, the Bengali New Year 1423 amid festivity on April 14, 2016. The whole university wore a festive dimension as the students of KUET installed stalls representing their respective halls for Baishakhi Fair with pure Bengali fashion building straw & clay made beautiful huts. Very special “Panta” (watery rice) with green chilies, sort of native and indigenous cakes etc were the main attractions in the fair. Celebration started in the early morning with the enchanting Tagor’s melody song “Esho hey Baishakh esho esho” at the Central Play Ground. At 10am a grand colorful procession (Mongol Shovajatra) to mark the Pahela Baishakh started and paraded the whole varsity campus, Fulbari area led by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir with participants in traditional attire wearing multi-coloured masks, palanquins etc. Cultural programmes, snake-charming, kite flying, cock fight, kabadi etc were also the day long native attractions of the day. Various cultural program and prize given ceremony also held at night in the auditorium.Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir attended all the programmes while wife of VC Ms. Meherunnesa Lata, Director (P&D) Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder, Director (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia accompanied him. In a short speech Vice-Chancellor said, Pahela Baishakh is deeply rooted in our heritage and we are proud of it. Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Medical Center opened new lab equipments on 27 March Sunday at 9 am at the University Medical Center. The chief guest Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir inaugurated new lab equipments and look inquired about their activities. Chief medical officer Dr. Rifat Sultana Shelly, Registrar Md. Abdur rouf, doctors and officials were also present in the program. The new lab equipments are Humalyzer 3000, Nycocard Reader and Incubator.

Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) celebrated the country's 45 independence & National day on March 26, 2016 Saturday by paying respect to the country’s most illustrious sons who were brutally killed by the Pakistani occupation forces and their collaborators in the nine-month bloody war with Pakistan in 1971.

Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, placed floral wreaths in front of the Liberation War Sculpture of KUET ‘Durbar Bangla’ at 26 March, 09:00 am. on behalf of the University. Later, Teachers Association, Director (Students’ Welfare), Officers Association, Provosts and students of different Halls, Chattra Leage, Karmachari Samiti (3rd Class), Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Karmachari Samiti (4th Class), Khulna Engineering University School (Secondary & Primary), Unmesh Govt. Primary School & other organizations of KUET placed floral wreaths at the memorial.

The authorities of KUET took two days long elaborated programmes to observe the day in a befitting manner. On 25 March, 07.00 p.m. KUET teachers, students, officers and employees gathered and brought out a procession of candle light led by the VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Alamgir to remember March 25, 1971, the darkest night in the history of Bangladesh.

On 26 March, at 09:30 a.m, a drawing competition for children was held at the university auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Alamgir awarded prizes among the winners of drawing competition as the Chief Guest.

A charity cricket match between Teachers and Students of KUET was also held at the play ground at 10:30 am. After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque to pray for the departed souls of the Nation’s bravest sons. Later, at 07.00 p.m. a discussion meeting & cultural programmes related to independence day was held at the auditorium.

Khulna Division National High School Programming Contest 2016' targeting high school students in the country held at Friday March 18th at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET). Organized by the Information and Communication Technology Division (ICT) of Bangladesh government, the contest will cover the entire country. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir present in the program as the Chief Guest while Head of the Department of CSE Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sheikh Sadi was in the Chair.

Department of CSE of KUET Prof. Dr. M. M. A. Hashem, Khulna Regional Manager of Robi Axiata Limited Md. Mizanur Rahman were present as the Special Guest on the program. More than 700 students for different schools around Khulna Division participated in it. Later the participants attended a programming workshop.

The final match of Inter Hall Football Tournament KUET was held on 17 March at KUET central play ground. Dr. M A Rashid Hall got the honor of being the champion defeating Lalan Shah Hall by 2(3) - 2(2) goal. Lalan Shah Hall was awarded the Runner-up trophy. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present in the final match as the Chief Guest. He enjoyed the final match and awarded the Champion & Runner-up trophies, prizes to individual players, man of the final, man of the match.Director (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia was in the chair. At 03:00 p.m. on 16 March, 2016 a discussion meeting was held at the university auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present as the Chief Guest while Director(Students’ Welfare) Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia in the chair. At 9:30 a.m. teachers, students, officers, employees, teachers & students of the schools gathered and brought out a colorful procession led by the Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir. He placed floral wreath on behalf of the University at the portrait of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Central Shaheed Miner of KUET. Later, Teachers Association, Director (Students’ Welfare), Officers Association, Provosts and students of different Halls, Chattra Leage, Karmachari Samiti (3rd Class), 4th Class Karmachari Samiti, Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, & other organizations of KUET placed floral wreath.

At 10:00 am Cultural programmes with the perform of the students of KUET School and Prize given ceremony held at the auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir distributed prizes among the winners as the Chief Guest.
