With solemn respect and honour the 95th Birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day was observed at KUET. At 03:30 p.m. on 16 March, 2015 a discussion meeting was held at the university auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present as the Chief Guest while Director of Students’ Welfare (CC) Md. Osman Goni Nayeem in the chair. Among others Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder, Dean of ME faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Syed Ali Molla, Dean of EEE faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Nurunnabi Mollah, Head of Industrial Engineering and Management Department Prof. Dr. Tarapada Bhowmick, Lecturer of BECM Department Md. Hamidul Islam, President of KUET Chattra Leage Safayet Hossain Noyon, Amar Ekushe Hall Chattra Leage Tanvir Rahman Onkur, Physical Education Officer Md. Helal Fakir, among the staff Md. Rabiul Islam, Md. Imrul Islam, Md. Jalal Munshi spoke in the meeting.
On 17 March, recitation, essay writing, hand writing and drawing competition for the student of Khulna Engineering University School (primary & secondary section) & KUET Govt. Unmesh Primary School Programmes were started at 7:30 a.m.
In presence of VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Karmachari Samiti (3rd Class), 4th Class Karmachari Samiti celebrated the 95th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman kicked of cutting cake at 9 am at KUET Staff Club.
At 9:15 a.m. teachers, students, officers, employees, teachers & students of the schools gathered and brought out a colorful procession led by the Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir. He placed floral wreath on behalf of the University at the portrait of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Central Shaheed Miner of KUET. Later, Director (Students’ Welfare), Provosts and students of different Halls, Teachers, Student, Officer, Chattra Leage, Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Karmachari Samiti (3rd Class), 4th Class Karmachari Samiti & other organizations of KUET placed floral wreath.
At 11:15 pm Cultural programmes with the perform of the students of KUET School and Prize given ceremony held at the auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir distributed prizes among the winners as the Chief Guest. Headmaster of Khulna Engineering University School (Secondary) T M Sanaur Rahman, Headmaster of KUET Unmesh Govt. Primary School Md. Akber Hossain and Headmaster of Khulna Engineering University School (Primary) Md. Bodiar Rahman present as the special guest.
After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque to pray for the departed soul of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
