Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) has got "Prime Minister's National Award on Tree Plantation-2013" for tree plantation on the campus. The ministry of environment and forest finalised the nomination for KUET for the Prime Minister's national award on tree plantation, 2013. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handover the Award on June 5, 2014 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital at a function marking World Environment Day 2014.

In category ‘Kha’ (College/University), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology got the second prize. KUET got a certificate, a crest and cash Tk.20,000 for the award.

KUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the ministry of environment and forest, khulna divisional forest office, related teacher and officer of KUET for the Award.
