B.Sc. Eng

Undergraduate Program

The Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering program at KUET began enrolling students in the 2018-2019 academic session and running since then. This undergraduate program consists of 8 semesters in which students must complete 160 credits of coursework. The program is meant to offer students with knowledge and hands-on experience in all Mechatronics Engineering areas. The B.Sc. in MTE curriculum stresses basic principles and teaches students how to apply these principles to find the best design solution for engineering challenges. In the first year, emphasis is placed on Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Sociology and Engineering Ethics, Manufacturing Process, Basic Electrical Engineering, Basic Computer Programming, Engineering Graphics, and Basic Mechatronic Systems. The other three years are devoted to the Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Economics and Accounting, Engineering Mechanics, Basic Electronics, Sensors and Instrumentations, CAD Practice, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Signals and Linear Systems, Electro-Mechanical Systems, Control Systems, System Simulation, Solid Mechanics and Machine Design, Numerical Analysis and Statistics, Software Engineering, Linear Integrated Circuits and Digital Systems, Microprocessor, Microcontroller and Interfacing, Network and Communication Systems, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery, Robotics, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control, Power Electronics and Drives, Design of Mechatronic Systems, Digital Signal Processing and Machine Vision, Automation, Industrial Management, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Embedded Systems, and other recent topics of Mechatronics Engineering.

The curriculum comprises theoretical courses, laboratory works, seminar and scientific writing, project and thesis, industrial training, and various field trips. Note that within 160 credits, Mechatronics Engineering associated courses contain 49.69%, other Engineering related courses comprise 21.56%, Mathematics and Basic Science related courses cover 19.84%, and General Education and Humanities related courses encompass 8.91% credits.
